With so many places to see and so many things to do, you surely need to take a long break from your mundane schedule and immerse in the spiritual yet modern and mystical vibe of Asia. This is my list of 6 top destinations across the continent that will be best to visit this summer.

1. Spectacular Hong Kong, China

Hong kong Skyline

Hong Kong, a city were I used to live, is a vibrant place with many things to do and see and a great hub to explore Asia. I often call it the New York of Asia due to its skyscrapers, 24/7 activity and the large banking and insurance scene. It offers some wonderful hiking opportunities, great beaches and a vibrant night scene.

These are some of the places are a must see when you are in Hong Kong and which I liked a lot.

A must do is visiting the Peak for the view, but you can also do very nice hikes from 1 hour up to a couple of hours.

Stroll around Central/Sheung Wan especially Peelstreet, Gage street, Gough street and the street parallel to Hollywood road below the Blake garden. It is nice to take the highest outdoor escalator starting at Queens road.

Take the Star Ferry from Tsim Sha Tsui to Central

On Wednesday nights the horse racing circuit in Happy Valley is a nice evening out. It starts from 7 pm until 11 pm with a total of 8 races. Four hours is quite long so I would suggest to be there somewhere between 8 and 9 pm. Tickets are 100 HKD and you can buy at the entrance.

The giant Buddha is a very nice trip. It is a bit touristy, but it is so green and out the hustle and bustle of Hong Kong.

I Like Lamma island a lot. It is 20 minutes by boat from Central pier. You can do a walk around the island in one hour and take the boat back to Central. A very nice spot!

You could also do a very nice walk by downloading the app I hongkong. It takes you off the beaten track in Hong Kong showing you some ancient places that few people know about.

If you want to chill then go to Big Wave Bay Beach. It is my favorite beach in Hong Kong. It is a small, secluded beach that feels cozy and has a nice local eatery. You can take a taxi to get there or take a bus from Central bus station.

2. Multi-cultural Singapore

Singapore is one of the cleanest cities of Asia and it is one of the most sought after destinations in the whole continent. Being a multicultural melting pot it offers a great variety of places and experiences. It offers plenty things to do and see.

If you like to visit authentic, local markets then go to Bugis. Avoid visiting this place on Sunday as all the helpers and workers have their day off and nestle themselves on every street corner. Or bring a visit to China town and combine it with grabbing lunch on Club street. A very nice, little street is Haji lane that is dotted with small boutiques.

One of the things I liked the most in Singapore was the Botanical Garden. Such beautiful, tropical greenery in the middle of the city. They have a really good restaurant that you should definitely visit called Casa Verde. Delicious!

Finish your day at grabbing a drink at Sky on 57 in Marina Bay Sands at sunset. You will have a spectacular view over the city.

If you want to visit Sentosa Island then go to Tanjong beach to chill and relax. Nestle yourself on one of the large beds and treat yourself with some delicious food.

3. Cosmopolitan Tokyo, Japan

Tokyo Japan

Tokyo, I immediately fell in love with this city when I first visited this country! The whole Japanese culture is so serene and the nature so amazingly beautiful that it will definitely leave a mark.

Being a hub for oriental culture and art, the city is one of financial giants of the world as well. Tokyo has plenty to offer and you will be spoilt for choice while being here. Starting from natural vistas to traces of the lost epoch to technological wonders, Tokyo is brimming with all kinds of visual and intellectual delights.

Some of the major attractions of this extremely famous city include Sensoji, the Kargets and ancient Buddhist temple, Nakamise, the oldest shopping market; Meji Jingu, a historical place; Imperial Palace, East Garden and many more. You must not miss the famous fish market, Tsukiji fish market, when you are in the city.

Rice fields Bali

With its beautiful beaches, spectacular mountain scenery, world class diving, top notch accommodation, amazing cuisine and a rich culture, it attracts many travelers every year. The jaw dropping natural beauty will mesmerize you when you set foot on the island. It makes the perfect place to get away from the hustle bustle of the city life. Located just South of India, this island country is famous for its elephants, tranquil beaches and panoramic natural beauty. Trincolamee has gained popularity for its pristine long beaches and wide open ocean with warm blue ocean water beckoning every onlooker with its mysticism.

6. Mystical Ladakh, India

Ladakh India

Located in the beautiful state of Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh is supposedly the highest point of the Indian political border. It is impressive and breath taking and something you probably haven’t seen before.

The world-famous Pangong Lake and the Zanskar Valley are worth a visit. Lots of movies have been shot here due to its amazing beauty and natural panorama. Ladakh is known for the Bactrian camels and you shouldn’t miss a ride on the Bactrian camels in the Nubra Valley when you are here. The monasteries of this place are equally peaceful as the valley itself.
